malted
We went to wrigley last saturday with my mom and john to see the tigers kick the cubs ass(es). it was really, really fucking hot, and all C. wanted was this malted thing. i like this picture because you can see how dirty her thumb is--we'd been transplanting tomatoes to bigger pots before the game.Posted by me at 01:01 AM | Comments (0)

and at night we walk into our houses and burn
the problem with listening to music while drafting credit agreements is that i have primarily two kinds of music, rap and folk, and neither is conducive to drafting anything because i always want to listen to the lyrics instead of paying attention to the documents i'm supposed to be working on. pop is probably good for drafting. or house or elevator music or mozart, but not rap or folk (can you say that rap is a type of folk music?). and really, i would be distracted even if i was doing something fun instead of being up late on a thursday puzzling over leverage ratios. i just can't help it, i like lyrics.
anyway, "iowa" is a beautiful song, and dar williams is telling me to skip out on the credit agreement and on my job for that matter and just stare out the window. she is also telling me that i am a huge lesbian stereotype and should switch back to the tupac. and i should burn all the credit agreements. amen.

holy shit, you can use citrix on OSX
why didn't anyone in the IT department bother to tell us this? it looks like the client has been available since January. I'm sitting here, on my iMac, working on a credit agreement off of citrix.
jesus christ, if i'd known this was possible, i could have saved 6 months of schlepping my pc home every time I had to work from home...

and yes, I am still on hold with the fuckers at AT&T
for those who had the honor of hanging out with me saturday night and thought my story about natalia holloway being kidnapped to become a sex slave were just drunken ramblings, i would like you to know that CNN backs me up. the sex slave trade is an epidemic! it even pollutes the world cup! that noblest of sports, football!. Christ, the world is going to hell.
this time the on hold music is like 80s elevator music instead of mozart. god, i miss the mozart.

AT&T can suck it.
I am on hold with AT&T. When we moved to The Condo, I decided I hate the fuckers at Comcast so much that I would get DSL and a phone line (work pays). So of course the DSL never worked, and the phone line was never set up (although they insisted it was...) so I cancelled it. Or so I thought. Because over the past two days I have gotten one $120 bill and one COLLECTIONS NOTICE from ATT.
So now I am on hold with the fuckers at fucking ATT. For the third time in two days. This time I got through to an actual person, but was told I would have to talk to a DIFFERENT ACTUAL FUCKING PERSON, so I am on hold AGAIN.
Awesome.
I got Vonage. And a Comcast cable modem. They work great. Ah, the irony.

sort of like the french FBI
went to see the davinci code last night and wow did that ever suck. i haven't laughed so hard at a movie in awhile, so that part was good. of course, we went knowing that it would suck, but perhaps we did not fully anticipate the level of suckiness. really. you should go see it. just be prepared to get looks from people who went to see the movie non-ironically as you are laughing your head off. if you keep whispering to yourself "albino monks on a plane!", you'll laugh so hard you won't be able to breathe.
mysteriously, the girl above us (and that's not really fair, because i once saw her boyfriend/husband sweeing the common stairs, so maybe it's him) likes to vacuum early on sunday morning. do these people not go out on saturday night? are they not hungover?
i was about to type "it's a beautiful day" but U2 (and C., who will break into the chorus from that song if you ever tell her "it's a beautiful day) have ruined it, so instead i will say:
it looks to be a very nice day outside. sunny and not a cloud in the sky.
